I have a 2009 Murano SL AWD with 16k miles. The problem: The first time the car stalled, Jan. 2009 in Flagstaff, AZ the Murano started with a jump, I drove it straight to Sears for a new battery, they actually told me I didn't need a new one, but I was 120 miles from home and I didn't want to take my chances of the Murano stalling again. I had no further problems with the car until two weeks ago, I was camping in Northern Arizona and the car died again, I had it jumped and it started right up. It sat overnight and wouldn't start again the very next day. The Murano is currently at the dealership, they can't find anything wrong but they did say they could see the battery had been drained. I called Nissan Corporate, they said they will have the district tech call the dealership. Any suggestions? This is a safety issue, all three times the Murano wouldn't start while I was in a remote location.

Possibly a bad starter is causing a drain on the battery?

starter wont cause that problem. You seem to have an unusual parasitic draw. something draining the battery while the car sits. The dealer just has to find whats doing it.

Actually, a bad starter can cause the problem Phxsuns described, I just went through this myself on a different vehicle that intermittently had starting problems that went on for about 3 months. It would start fine, i'd be driving to where-evers, then once I got back into the car to start it again I got nothing... no click, no sound, zippo. Had to get a jump every time. So I got the battery and alt tested, both were ok and should have started the car fine. I ended up isolated the problem to the bad starter...so I changed it out and haven't had a problem since....that's been months ago. Battery, starter, alt...all interconnected.

HOWEVER, there's so many electronics and computers in the Murano that it could be almost anything putting a drain on the battery, or a combination of things. Yes, the dealer will have to continue troubleshooting until they isolate the problem.
