Has anyone had any problems with their 2009 Maxima's Climate Controlled Driver Seat? My worked great for 2 weeks but for the last 4 it has been in and out of the shop. I really miss that Air Conditioned Seat down here in Florida!

Hey there and Welcome to NICO!

What is going on with your seats? Are both of them doing the same thing or is it just the drivers seat? As far as I know the new Max is the first Nissan to use the electric plate design that Infiniti has been using for a few years. I have only seen very few issues with these seats.

It must be nice to still need your cooled seats.

If I remember right the 09 max drivers side is the only one that has air cooled seat. Someone correct me if i am wrong.

LOL..I guess it is nice to "need" the air conditioning at this time of year. But yes, the driver's seat had a "short" in the control unit that had to be replaced (of course it only took 3 trips to the dealer to get this sorted out.) I am happy to report that I finally have a "cool butt" once more.

I did query about the reliability of this option but found that from my dealer's service department perspective, this is so new to them that they werent quite prepared to deal with it. I guess I'll start checking the TSBs and see if this may be a more prevalent issue

And to Fezzich yes the only option is the Climate Controlled Driver's Seat in the 09 Max (although it would be fun to have the ability to mess with my bride's seat during those drives when she fall's asleep!!!)

I'm glad to hear it's fixed. Sometimes these types of new technology can stump us. An issue can be easily overlooked if the tech does not know what they are looking for.

I really do not know which system they use for sure, but I am assuming it's the charged plate style, which is actually a pretty complex system.

That kind of sucks that it's only on the drivers seat, it is fun to make your passenger think they have wet themselves.
