I have a 07 m35x and been thinking the same for the last few days. Will wait till after winter to get rims but in the mean time I would like to get it lowered. Hopefully someone will respond.

Just my 2 cents...

I have a 2008 base model (no AWD) and put Eibach springs in as I read somewhere no further components would be needed to correct my alingment. Boy was that wrong. As soon as they were put in the car's previous amazing driving went to s***. I bought the full SPC corrective package (adjustable camber kit, upper control arms, rear toe arms) and now it is back to that lovely facotry ride; while being lowered of course. All together it was around $1200 with installation but man is it worth it...

Would you be able to post pics of the camber kit, specifically the upper control arms? I would love to get them but am afraid that my front end may be bent a bit due to a front side collision. I would love to see the angles of the mounting bushings.

Thanks

Hey Man, it just depends on how low you want you ride and if you are going with after market rims.
I love my Sports rims so I just went with springs (Tein S Tech), it's low enough to clear the gap from tire to fender but not too low, I can still go over MOST speed bumps :dblthumb:

Depends how low you want and most importantly with what wheels, diameter width and offset play a big role. I personally have coilovers which to me is the way to go for couple of reasons ( height and dampening adjustments) and its worth the money.
Example: 2" drop with aftermarket wheels lets say 20x9 et30 will have very small camber angle whereas stock 18" x8.5 et50 with same 2" drop will have a lot of negative camber and look like sh*t.

Also I live in Nj so winter weather is almost here. I will be putting my stock 18s on and raise the car, another plus with coilovers.

Btw. Most of the time camber adjustment kits are not neccessary but thats just me...

What exactly do you mean the amazing driving went to s***? I have a 2006 M45 Sport and it drives the same, it actually gives me less body roll when I make turns, but the ride comfort is the same. I installed Eibach Pro springs.

Now I can't speak on behalf of the Non sport M's out there, but I would assume the non sport's have a more comfy ride quality, perhaps this is what you speak of? Just wanting to make sure since I just got my car lowered and want to know what to expect.

My car is lowered on BC coilovers and I think the ride improved! I have a 2008 sport RWD, I am not sure if lowering affects the AWD models. Also, no camber kit for me and my alignment feels ok.

I have an M35x lowered

To keep things correct i used the machined front control arms and bolts (about 1.5 negative camber). I would be happy to sell them to you. for the rear I also the espiler m35x specific coils;

http://www.burtmanindustries.com/zoompr ... er_06_up_x

Those are hard to get but I maybe willing to sell mine because i need new struts and shocks. I'm thinking of trying coil overs.

You can also machine a couple of items in the rear to correct for rear camber, which i did.

if you dont get to M35X specific springs or coil overs you will have some additional challenges on the X model.

Once i get KYB rear shocks ill sell my coilovers. You don't need anything to install D2 coilovers except 2 wrenches(forks) that come with it. I was told i might need camber arms, but my allignment was fine without.
Some comfort was lost but handling was improved x100. MUCH less bodyroll and its much more fun to drive. Oh and looks amazing :)

IDK where you got that done, but of all the springs i have installed on G's and M's required no further aftermarket adjustment... Unless they jacked up a camber bolt, or bent a toe arm, or whatever... you should not, specifically on eibachs have any issues or needs....

My car slammed, rides beautifully, and I still rock stock control arms and camber... Yeah I go through tires, but she controls like a dream... I know apples to oranges with springs... but just as an example.

If I were you OP, I would jump on those D2's finik is fencing... Great coilover, with a good amount of user set drop...

Installing them is a little more involved than just the adjusting wrenches, but easy none the less...

You wont know until you try :) everyone got different results. Some need camber arms and some are ok without.
Also i read here that if your shocks are old then they going to die quick once you put different springs, So then you have to get shocks - rear are cheap you can get KYBs, but fronts you have to get OEM and those are $$$
