I (and a few other forums members) have tried a number of the ipod-connector-to-bluetooth adapters and none of them have been found to work.

I've seen so many questions about this. I reckon it's time to accept that some of our Ms are too far behind the latest technology. Noting wrong with trying, mind you, but even 5 years old is a long distance from today's technology.

Somewhat related. I had read where some people were not able to pair their Iphone 5. I just picked up my Iphone6 and successfully paired it to my 2009. I don't know if there was some related upgrade in the 2009 as it does have the different nav system from the previous years. Sound quality on my previous android was horrendous to the point I had to use earbuds connected to the phone and not use the car system. So far the sound seems much better with the Iphone. Not sure if it was an IOS vs Android issue , different phone or what, but I can actually use my car system now.
