I got into a fender bender earlier today with a pick up. The only damage I got was to my front bumper and the bottom part of the grill (cracked). Considering how much I had to pay the Nissan dealership to have them replace the cover on a fallen off side-view mirror ($600), I'm thinking of trying to do this one myself.

I started doing some research on parts. Just quick ones I found.

Front Bumper

Grill

Does anybody know anything about getting these parts replaced, what i should do (i'm gonna ask the dealership the cost anyway), equipment needed, etc.

Any kind of advice would be appreciated.

Without pics and seeing your bumper removed it may be hard to assess extent of damage. Was it a slow impact? Can you tell if the styrofoam absorber part of the bumper is damaged? It looks like you found some great prices on parts. If you don't DIY I can't see why you need to have a dealer complete the work, check into reputable local body shops in your area. I removed my bumper the other month and it wasn't difficult at all.

I'll try and get pictures up (although, I'm leaning towards being lazy). It was a slow impact. I was behind a pick up truck and we were stopped in traffic. Traffic started moving and I looked down to get my coffee, let go of the brake at the same time and next thing I know, I'm in the pickup's tow connector. I can't tell if the absorber is damaged mainly because I didn't know my bumper had one.

As far as damage goes, superficially, the plate bracket's broken, the bumper, my plate itself, and the slightest crack on the bottom silver part of the grill. In my bumper, it's been cracked inwards at probably 1-1.5 in at the most. Minor things, but I like to keep it mint if they're quick fixes (which this seems to be, so long as I have the parts and tools)
