i have a 2009 G37x with the navi option and pairing my iphone 3G is working fine. I can receive calls, dial out, quality of the audio is great but lately i noticed an odd behavior

when i get a call, the caller-ID number is displayed in full (+14165551212). i can answer the call no problem
but if i missed the call or want to call back the number , i go to the call log, the number is there (+14165551212) but if I choose to call it, i get a carrier msg saying the number cannot be dialed as is.
if i dial the full number from the onscreen keypad, i still get the error.
if i remove the +1 then it works ! and that's how i end up storing the entries in my phonebook (without the +1, just the area code + number)
The the odd thing, i can dial the full number (+14165551212) from my iphone without any problems, just not from the car !

anyone else ran into this ? any solution ? is there a firmware update for the car ?
thanks

Sam

Somewhere buried in the menus a prefix 1 is being inserted into the dial string for all calls outside of your NPA

To prove this program a toll free number for an airline, hotel chain, or car rental without the prefix 1 into your phone

Then ask the car to dial Marriott or whatever. If the call goes thru your vehicle inserted the 1 prefix

telcoman, thanks for your help.. here is what i tried

dialing an 800 number worked fine
dialing the same 800 number but with 1 added (i.e. 1-800-555-1212) also worked
dialing again but with a +1 failed

i also trying pairing with an iPhone 3GS and same thing, don't like the "+" sign in front of the number
when i dialed +18005551212 and it failed, it showed up on my iphone as 011 1 800-555-1212
who converts the +1 to a 011 ?

Thanks again

I suspect the problem may be in your I Phone? If you are near an AT&T Phone store you may want to try going there and perhaps trying another phone. Or you can Call AT&T Customer Service. 1 800-331-0500

If you want an international test number to use, I use the Austrialian weather 011 613 966 94916
Once you confirm the phone is sending out the correct digit string then contact Infiniti if you are still having a problem

Good luck

i tried 3 separate phones: an iPhone 3G, an iPhone 3GS and a SonyEricsson K790a and all 3 behave the same way ? none like the +1 dialing prefix from the car (but all 3 are OK dialing +18005551212 from the phone).
could it be something in the bluetooth profile of the car or the phone ?
i also tried a Blackberry 8800 and it works fine , but then again, in the blackberry you can configure all the dialing prefix options (area code, etc...)
