Hey everyone,

I've been lurking for a long time but just decided to join. I'm having an issue that I hope you all can help me out with... I've searched several forums and haven't found the answer, but I do know that the problem is not just mine, as I've seen a review on carreview stating the same issues...

I have a 2009 G37 Journey/Sport/Premium/Nav Sedan that I bought new last year. Ever since my purchase I've been having a couple issues with the Bose system... Every once in a while, within a few seconds of starting the vehicle, the radio will randomly switch into iPod mode (I usually keep it on XM, so it plays a couple seconds and switches to iPod). At first I figured it may have been caused due to my iPod being completely discharged, so I gave it a full charge and the issue continues... I have a Gen2 Nano with older firmware and virgin from iTunes. I had it unplugged for a while and I don't believe the issue occured during that time (although it's sporadic, so it may have not been enough time to really test).

Also, on fairly rare occasion (although still often enough to be an annoyance and worth noting), when I change the channel or source from the steering wheel, the display will switch from the map to the status screen.

I took the car to the dealer today; they couldn't replicate the problem, but offered to replace the entire unit under warranty... This is okay if it's necessary, but I just wanted to check with you all before I procede to see if there may be any simple fix (a la faulty iPod cable or something of the sort).

I don't want to lose all of my music, settings, etc... and have a refurb unit installed just to find out that the issue was something completely different...

Thanks for any help!

-James
