2009 EX35 driver's seat

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I think I am having an issue with my driver's seat but the dealership is telling me that this is an 'Infiniti design' and I find it hard to believe...hoping someone can confirm it is before I go higher

Forward/Reverse and seat back recline work perfectly fine...it's the up/down functionality that I am concerned with. When the seat bottom is at its lowest level, as I start to raise it (8 way automatic adjustable seat) the left side is moving but the right side does not. This happens for about an inch and then the right side starts to move and they move in unison all the way to the highest level.

The dealership is saying that the motors are a 'step motor' process and cannot start at the same time otherwise there will be a short in the electircal system. I do not ever remember feeling this when raising my seat and it concerns me that it seems they are fluffing me off.

I agree that it may not be a motor issue due to the fact that the seat moves fine with no wobble or stopping, however, could there be an issue with the track assembly?

If this movement of one side first is normal or not, I would appreciate anyone to let me know...if it needs to be fixed, I want it done, and if not, I want to just let it go and enjoy my ride

Thanks,

They are "are fluffing you off". Mine (a 2010 mind you) does not do that at all: Smooth (and balanced) operations all the way up.

However I had a different problem with the driver seat moving forward (only slightly) under hard braking. It took the dealer 2 tries to fix it and they ended up replacing the whole seat assembly with a new one. However, both seats operated up and down perfectly.

My 2008 driver seat does not do that either. The dealer is likely BSing to avoid the warranty repair/replacement. Could you let us know which dealer it is? I'll avoid them if they are in the area.
