When just doing a regular drain and fill, 5 quarts will drain.
So re-filling with 5 quarts of NS-2 fluid will do the job.
If you plan to drop the pan, you will need to re-fill 5 1/2 quarts and work from there.
If you plan to drop the pan and replace the strainer, you will need over 6 quarts.
After dropping the pan and replacing the strainer, I re-filled 5 1/4 quarts.
I started slow because I wanted to get as close to the first dot on the dip stick.
Of course the next day, it was bone dry after 20 min of warming up the engine at moderate speed.
So I filled another 1/4, then drove, just still barely under the dot and still very low.
So another 1/4 added, repeat. Still not enough.
Heck, I just emptied the bottle for the full six quarts and now it sits exactly touching the cross hatch.
Ok, I was happy with that, and drove for a week and its still there just touching it.
So today, I added another 8 ounces.
The overall goal is to get it right in the middle just like it was from the factory as in my case.
Hopefully, I am a little bit inside the cross hatch area now and see how I am in a week.
Unlike the motor oil dipstick where being close to the full line is preferable,
On the transmission dip stick this is to be avoided to prevent aeration and the so-called dreaded whine and limp mode.
Just avoid the full dot area like the plague!
Therefore, I am taking it slowly and yet meticulous approach as I can so I can get a nice accurate fill.
My final thoughts on the drain is pretty positive considering I was able to drain way more than 50% fluid considering the AWD capacity is 9.1 quarts.
Many vehicles out there are lucky to get 3-4 quarts, considering just draining the Rogue gets 5qts is great.
The FWD is 7.9 QTs, so you see how much we are able to drain from our vehicles is a major plus!
And hoping not to beat a dead horse, but the Rogue drives freakily smooth. If it wasn't such a dramatic change, I would not
praise it like it was some cure to baldness, but its that defining in a way!

This is not my dip stick but an example where your levels should be around.
