As the wifes new 2009 Altima 2.5S reached the 500 mile mark the dash suddenly displayed the no key warning light. She was afraid to turn off the car & drove straight to the dealer. The dealer checked and the problem disappeared and then returned. They told her to return late morning when the chief mechanic would be in.She returned and they pulled codes 2190 and 2191. I spoke to service and they have not previously had that problem and are forwarding the issue to Nissan. Service also told me they use a new computer system for OBD lll codes that began in 2008My Actron scanner is obsolete already according to Nissan service

I just got it!

One code was for no key and the other was for improper keyThe dealer cleared the codes and so far so good.

Has anyone else experienced this problem with their Nissan?

Erm...OBD III isn't out yet...your scanner is fine.

I suspect something just malfunctioned or something with the key and such, causing that to happen. If it doesn't happen again, I would just forget about it and chalk it up to the car gods or something. But I've not seen that type of problem yet...

Something could have also interfered with the key and the signal it transmits...those devices are all subject to interference as described by the FCC.

FCC.
Hmm, dealer service says it is, you say it isn't. I'm inclined to believe you upon further checking and investigation.

Well she was heading to Newark airport so perhaps it was airport radar however at the dealer 30 miles away the problem cleared and returned. The dealer finally cleared the codes so I'll keep an eye on it
