The steering on this vehicle is locked and the wheels will not turn even with the steering column removed. Before I start pulling this apart any input as to the possibility of the EPS motor or related components causing this condition would be appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to NICOclub! Sorry to hear that your car is having trouble. I'm not all too well versed in your vehicle, but have done some research for you. The most common problem I could find was the steering lock control unit failed and needed to be replaced (PART# 487009N00B). However, I suspect that may not be your problem.

thanks rogue. Yes, the steering lock control is on the column, and I pulled it thinking it would need to be replaced, but that isn't it. I also pulled the tie rod ends and the rack is locked up solid. If there is a failure of the eps motor the rack reverts to manual mode and should still be able to steer. I am going to pull the rack apart on Monday and I'll post what I find.
