Hey guys, just posting some pictures of my new ride.got rid of my old 96 240sx and this is my new baby. Got 35% tints all around.I installed the DDM 35W 6000k kit today and took some pictures of it. Glad the 6000k is not too blue in color. I was worried that it'll be too blue, but I like color after the install. btw my DDM kit had that reversed connection. so ended up modifing the connection from the digital ballast.Didn't feel like jacking up the car and take the wheels off so I took the bumper off lol Oh and some new findings... if there is a connection ready inside the bumper, does that mean my car is fog light ready?

enjoy the pics:

Turned out pretty nice.

Is this the Fog light pre-wire???

had to cut the lil thing inside that connention so I can plug it in the other way.

----------------------next mod: white LED inside blubs and plate light. I"ve searched for that but not sure which LEDs to buy. help me out here.

prob. gonna get the pioneer avic-90bt for in-dash navigation. Thanks for looking.

One question, does anyone know if it is possible to swap out the steering wheel to get the audio controls on it? and could you go back to the dealer to have them swap it for you??? can you go back to the dealer and have the convenience pkg upgrade after the purchase?

yes, it looks like youre prewired for fogs....all you need to do is buy the fogs and a new light switch stalk for the steering column

I highly doubt you can do that.Would be a lot of work it seems. Would cost way more to swap anything then if it just came with the package from the factory.

Would be cool if it was possible tho

Darn it. I didn't notice that it didn't have the audio control on the steering wheel until I signed off and drove home lol.anyways, I drove the car with the HIDs on at night for the first time today. but I don't know if the wet road is making the HIDs look dimmer but it seems to me that the lights are not much brighter than my stock halogen bulbs... should I go down a notch and get the 5000k bulbs if I want more lights? the color of the 6000k is nice looking though.oh and nobody flashed me so I guess there isn't much glare with it.maybe I should order a 5000K kit when I get the fogs and put the 6000k in the fogs and 5000k in my low beams. But I really like the looks of the fog lights being yellow...

the wet roads wont show the HIDs as well as dry roads. Wait until you drive in dry conditions before you decide to switch to 5000k

stick with the 6000K on the headlights. Wet roads tend to make them seem less bright than when your on dry roads. Also the 6000k fogs are awesome from DDM. I have a pair of them and switched my stock hid low bulbs to 6000k from 4300k to match the fogs. Overall DDM has some good quality stuff and im happy with the product.

I will try to get some night pics soon.still raining here in the northwest.

Oh and found out some info about the OEM audio controls on the steering wheel. At nissanclub, people are reporting that you can indeed swap in the audio controls on the steering wheel and wire it up to make it work.Op is not posting pics and no reply so far. anyone has more info on this?

Since my car is non-auto head light, I will need to order the non-auto stalk right?

I agree.. Finally got my DDM 6000k's installed... Love them, easy plug in play.. Did have to switch the red and black wires, but overall rate the kit 9/10...

I searched for DDM in titles and this came up, im gonna post some info I found on a local forum I watch about DDM's quality...
Other Forum wrote:After 24 days, i finally received the HID kits i ordered. I had ordered 3 kits but only one is going in my car. I figured that for the same price as bulbs i would try it out in a non-critical area in the car (fogs)

About the order - I have seen a few others complain about the shipping time, on the site it says 1-2 weeks. They billed my card right away. After a week or so not hearing from them i had noticed that the item was now listed as temporarily backordered on the site. I wait another week and finally call them after no tracking number had appeared in my inbox. So anyway, they shipped monday, but still took a while because UPS f***ed up this time.

One intersting thing to note here-My credit card was billed directly from Apexcone, and when i called the call was answered from Apexcone. For those of you who don't know, Apexcone are one of the more common brands that make 50 watt kits. They typically sell for 100 dollars or so for 35w and 120ish for 50 watt kits on other sites.I later learned that DDM is in fact owned by apexcone so you are basically buying factory direct.

Installation went relatively smooth, with the exception of me scratching up my salt and sand covered car cause i was too lazy to wash it, and with both of the back covers on the headlight housings cracking slightly when i was drilling for the grommet and me needing to apply silicone to seal them off. Cold weather and plastic FTL.

Got everything in place without bolting up, fired them up and they worked. Being skeptical of cheap s***, i decided to try them again a couple times. Sure enough on the second try one of the ballasts failed. I immediately broke out the multimeter, which of course had low batteries and i had to replace, and checked first the input voltage at the stock leads which was fine, then from the second connector into the ballast, also fine, and then as i was trying to get the leads to stay in the output from the ballast to test it i realized i was a retard, went inside, and grabbed one of the ballasts from the other kits and swapped it in

It worked.

So i have one failed ballast. We will see how the warranty is. If you aren't used to pulling your bumper and lights you might want to save yourself the trouble of having to do all the work for nothing, and get a set of test leads with alligator clips for like 3 bucks and test everything on the battery a couple times before installing them in the housings

Anyway i will update this after i see how they hold up after a few days of cold starts and turning on and off w/ the high beams which can be rough on HID's, and when i see how the warranty is. I just wanted to post something up because people have been asking about this place

_______________________________________________________________________UPDATE #1 -

1st off, one of the ignitors is intermittently not firing, so sometimes when i shut them off and turn them back on, i have to turn the fogs on and off a couple times to get it to work. Fortunately the only time i turn them off is to flash everyone that thinks i have my high beams on because HOLY F%*K are these BRIGHT! 3000k fogs FTMFW.

It looks like a wall of light coming down the road. These overpower my headlights by so much you can only see the 6000k off to the side a little and directly in front of the car where the fogs don't cover. They are actually a bit brighter than my high beams now. I didn't even bother using the high beams unless i was flashing someone, and when i was at an intersection where cars would drive by their faces were illuminated.

When a car in front of me was going around a bend before i would just see the tails and outline of the back, along with the light from their headlamps in front of them. I now cast a shadow over everything in front of me.

I am not joking either when i say that looking at them from any distance as far as i was willing to walk from the car this cold a** night, they were BLINDING and i had to squint the whole time i walked back to the car, followed by a couple minutes of not being able to drive because i was still seeing spots

Anyway, possible this weekend i will be beefing up the headlight and foglight grounds and installing relays with 10 gauge to the fogs to try and solve the intermittent no start____________________________________________________________________This post was from STOOF, the guy with the red g37 with a black hood and cf roof

OK HERES MY REVIEW.

THESE KITS ARE GARBAGE!

I ordered:55w 8000k D2S for the low beams55w 8000k H1 for the fogs

The 55w kits are supposed to be ALOT brighter than the 35w kits. So i had to pay an extra $15 for that, and an extra $15 for the D2S bulb connectors.

I just "tried" to install the two 55w kits in my lows and fogs. And this is what i encountered.

1. They didnt give me the wire to connect the ballast to the stock harness for the D2S kit. (no biggie as i have a bunch of others which i used)2. The H1 bulb for the fog, DIDNT f***IN FIT. The bulb fit in fine, but the base of the bulb was so big, i couldnt get the clip down onto it.3. After i hooked up at least the low beam i tested it against my stock 35w 8k. They arent brighter at all.4. I ordered 8k, should be blueish, NOPE, theyre white as hell, they look like stock 4300k color. WTF.

I took them out and im going to get a refund, this is bulls***.

I also ordered a reg 35w kit 6000k for the camaro, im debating if i should even put it in or just return it._____________________________________________________________________Ok so i called yesterday with some questions about their kits, also because my best friend ordered a 35w 8000k H3 kit for his fogs, and got just bulbs, no ballast.

First of all, their customer service is absolutely HORENDOUS. TERRIBLE to say the least. They ALWAYS put you on hold, literally play the same song over and over (some terrible remake of "my humps") while having you on hold for about 10 mins to 30 mins at a time, they have maybe like 3 guys working out of a basement or something.

Second of all, They notified me that they will no longer be selling Apexcone HID kits anymore because theyre "hard to get", so theyll start selling DDM kits. They say the Ballast will be smaller than the Apexcone, no word on the difference in output.

Now im not discrediting their business with the above stated problems, but for anyone whose had problems with them like myself and a few friends, this is most likely why.
Just an FYI

yeah i'd also like to know from how long ago this was from. i got ddm kit too, the wires were reversed but other than that i've got no complaints. i don't even have the issue of the lights not firing when it's on auto mode.

So does this kit also work with the 2008 Altima? Or is it only the 09?

Thanks

Looks good! I'm seriously thinking about trading my car in for one of these (can't afford the coupe) when I work for Enterprise
