right now it only has the factory head unit and the front stock speakers, that's it, no rears.. but I have an older set of Pioneer Premier 3-way 6x9's rated @40 rms just sitting around...

I'm planning on getting a complete set up soon, but since I have them already, and it sounds easy to hook up, I'm lookin for a quick audio boost... my Q is: does the factory deck have the power to run everything properly if I just connect the two extra speakers or not? or does anyone know the specs on the factory deck as far as RMS output?

this is my first post, and i'm kinda new to DIY audio, so I appreciate any input!

Im not exactly sure of the stock headunits specs, but I would imagine the non-Bose system is probably right around 25-30 watts per channel. Tossing in those speakers wont hurt but it might not sound like you expect.

thanks for the quick reply and info! the speakers are 4-ohm, don't know if that makes a diff with anything or not.. and that's OK if it's not a huge performance boost, but I just wanna make sure it doesn't damage the speakers cuz i may re-use or re-sell them....

Most front door and rear deck speakers are 4 ohm, that shouldnt be a problem. Dont worry about damaging them.

just as I suspected from looking through a few threads before posting, this site is filled with extremely helpful people so I'm sure I'll be around when I go to do my full install with more questions, lol....

Thanks,
