I have a 2008 A/C with a Stillen front fascia and oem headlights that has aged pretty badly so I'm planning on changing out the entire front end to the 2010-13 model look. I also want to save some money on paint and get a carbon fiber hood. my question is, I can't seem to find a carbon fiber hood for the 2010+ Altima coupe but I have heard the 2010+ coupe has the same hood as the sedan. Can anyone confirm this?

I know people have successfully converted a 2008/09 to a 2010+ front but will a sedan hood fit a coupe? I don't want to get an oem hood from nissan and pay even more to get it painted lol
also can you link me to the guy selling it if you can? thanks

Where did you hear that?

There's a CF hood for the 2010+ Model, VIS makes it. But it's OEM style.. no hood scoops or anything. I don't see a point in buying it unless you like that CF look.

The CF hood would save some weight and such, but if it doesn't come from the manufacturer with some sort of clear coat or protection, you'll need to clear coat it anyway, so it's doubtful you'll save a significant amount of money. But feel free to give it a shot and show us what the finished product looks like!

Also - food for thought - this conversion requires a lot of parts. It's more than just the hood, bumper and headlights. Fenders need to be swapped out as well, and I'm not even sure about underlying mounting points, etc. It's a fairly big project.

yeah most of the parts on my front end are getting old and damaged (from a small accident from previous owner I suspect) so I needed to swap them out anyway.
also this is the VIS cf oem style hood but it says it will fit "10-12 Nissan Altima 2dr/4dr"
http://www.andysautosport.com/products/ ... &year=2010
also saw on some other website that this will fit both sedan and coupe but maybe I read it wrong?

Im pretty sure that hood WONT fit. The coupe headlights have a different shape around the headlighta. Sedan headlights are smaller or wider i think. I just went to look at my coupe, and it is very different from that shape hood

Isn't it because you and I both have a 2008-09 coupe and the link is for a 2010-13 coupe? the 2010-13 coupe and sedan have very similar looking hood shapes, as in I can't tell the difference even in person without measuring them which I haven't had the chance to yet.

The headlights on newer coupes are slightly different from ours. But that hood still looks like it wont fit around coupe lights

From NissanUSA.com/parts:

The part number for a coupe's hood (2012 model) is 65100ZX00A. This, in fact, matches the sedan for 2012. My mistake. So a sedan and coupe for model years 2010 to 2012 do share the same hood.

However, it is different from a 2008-2009's hood, 65100-JA00D.

That right there was what I was wondering but could never confirm 100%. I didn't want to spend thousands of dollars on a hunch and end up back where I started.
thanks everyone for your help, if I do decide to go through with this, I will keep this updated :mike

one more thing. some of the other parts that could have changed in the 2009-10 redesign is confusing me.
2008 fender says the part # is 63100-JB130 Superceded to 63100-ZN65A. the 2010-13 fender part # is 63100ZN65A and both have the same price.
does this mean the 2010 and 2008 have the same fenders? i.e. if I do change the front, can I leave the fenders alone?

Fenders don't need to be changed. I just confirmed with my friend that did a swap.
