I'm wondering what changes were made to the CVT to achieve the better environmental impact numbers from the EPA over the 2007 Versa. Fuel economy numbers are identical, but the 2008 rating is 6.3 tons of greenhouse gases per year while the 2007 was 6.6 tons.

The automatic and stick shift remained the same at 6.6 tons; only the CVT improved its environmental impact numbers.

No argument about anything; I'm thinking that it's a typo at the EPA website more than an actual improvement for only the CVT model. If, in fact, it IS a legitimate figure, I'm just wondering what Nissan did to improve it. Any of the dealers or mechanics here know why?
