I've been a proud owner of 2008 Versa SL for nearly 3 months. The car is astounding in every aspect of craftsmanship and performance. Just over a month ago, I noticed a relatively low-key yet annoying issue with car's radio:
Intermittently, (say, 1 out of 5 times) upon turning on the ignition, my FM radio goes to "Mute" mode. Irrespective of what I do next (turn the volume knob up and down, press various bluetooth control buttons, turn the entertainment system power button on and off), the FM radio will stay muted until the car is fully restarted. Upon the next restart, 100% of the time, the FM radio will be perfectly fine.
It is worth emphasizing that this issue only occurs with FM radio. When I switch to "AM" during the course of the problem, the sound is back just fine. Switching back to "FM" will have the problem return. As far as CD playback it seems to function perfectly at all times, so no problem there.
Can anybody kindly shed some light on what may possibly be the cause of such a bizarre shortcoming? Honestly, I do not feel like taking the car to the dealer just yet since this issue does not inhibit car's performance in any way, but presents just a mere annoyance. I have also heard stories of dealers inflicting more damage than good to the car when facing issues of these sorts.
