Hi,

I've been checking out the used cars theses days and found this 2008 Nissan Rogue with:
-both premium and leather packages,
-49,000 km
-All Wheels Drive
-pretty good conditions with only one owner

And then it comes to the retail price as $20,888 CA (without tax) from the dealer
would this be a decent price to purchase? or how much should I cut down the price?

Appreciated for any help!

Talk about mark-up. :inout:

Remember the saying that a car depreciates 20% just after leaving the lot.

Considering a vehicle loses 15% value each year.

Let me put it this way, I paid around the same price for a new 2009 AWD with a $1000 trade-in.

Always seems like a used car is near a price of a new car from these dealers. :gotme

I just did a reality check using Edmunds.com in my area (NW Washington) and the dealer price was around $18K (US) so that may be a fair price in Canada. For an extra $5K you could probably score a new Rogue

With interest rate on new rogue, it is probably will be better to get a sl for a little bit more money and few bucks a month.

Thanks for replying!

so the price is a bit too much for a used car?

the 2008 SL model is the top trim back then which covers the premium and leather
the 2012 modem has SV and then SL which includes the leather package

2011 are more refine then 2008. 2012 will have a few new features. I also owned a 2008 sl awd and traded it in when the 2011 came out. Overall, I like the 2011 features more. For the price of used, I would pay for new one. You could get the top of the line for invoice and low apr....If you don't care for leathe and sunroof, you could get mid model with Bose and backup camera for about 23 to24k....

hmm,
can anyone suggest a decent price for a used car like that?

I checked the 2012 Rogue S model starting with $23K without tax! and it doesn't even come with the bose speakers and backup camera!
