Hi Folks -

I backed into my wife's 2008 Rogue this evening (don't ask, please :) ) and busted the fog lamp assembly (well, just the lens cover..looks like the bulb works fine) on the driver's side. Did some homework here (thank you to whoever posted the service guide!) and it looks like it's something I can do myself. I'm not a mechanical expert by any means but am certainly on the more-handy side.

Was hoping one of you out there had done this in the past and could answer a couple of questions before I order the part.

It looks like the general steps for this are:

1. Remove the splash guard (might not be a bad idea to remove the wheel, too..thoughts?)
2. Remove the splash shield under the front bumper (or just enough to gain access to the fog lamp)
3. Replace the assembly (looks like it's just a couple of screws)
4. Put everything back together

Does this sound right?

I took a look in the wheel well and saw the clips for the splash guard were.. not what I was expecting. How does one go about getting those out?

I believe the part number I need is: 26155-8990A -- found it on eBay for $53ish shipped from a seller with 60k+ feedback. Seems legit enough to me.

Any help anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a ton.

-Craig

i always go from the bottom.
there should be 2 bolts that hold the fog light on.

take a picture of the clips, and ill tell you how to remove them.

some are push the center in, to pop out.
some are two pieces and require the center to be gently pulled out -- for the 2piece to be removed.

On the top of the bumper of each side (between fender cover) you have a screw which you can remove with 10mm wrench. Just pull the fender cover a little bit on the top of the bumper and you'll see it. Pull the bumper a little bit and you'll have plenty of space to work on fog lights. If you'll need more space you can easily remove the bumper completely (2 people preferably working on it). Remove all clips on top of the grill and headlights then clips on the bottom of the bumper and 3 hex screws on both sides then bumper go off easily with 4 hands.

ImStricken - Makes sense going in from the bottom. Do you think I still need to take the splash shield off (in the wheel well) or just the piece under the front bumper? I'll snap a a few pics of the clips this evening and post. Thank you.

Leo2005 - I'm not clear where that bolt is -- sounds like it may be on the inside of the wheel well? If I do it this way, will I not have to remove the splash guard? I have skinny hands and fingers so working in there should be no problem.

Both of you.. THANK YOU for the replies. I really appreciate it.

You don't have to remove the wheel well. Just pull it a little bit and you'll see a screw.

Interesting. Where does the bolt face? Would I remove it from the wheel well area, or from under the front bumper?

That is awesome, THANK YOU. I'll try gaining access to that area sometime in the next day or so and assuming I can, will order up the part.

Thanks again, I really appreciate it.

Just a quick update.....

Found that bolt and was able to pop the bumper off a bit to get at the fog lamp assembly. Getting at the bolt facing the right side of the car may end up being done blindly, but it is certainly do-able.

I called my local dealership, and they wanted $350 (including parts) to do this!

I ordered up the part and hopefully will have a chance to attempt the installation next weekend.

Thank you, Leo2005 and ImStricken for your help. You guys saved me about $300! :)

Installed the lamp moments ago -- literally zero issues. Used a stubby ratcheting screwdriver for the two screws holding the assembly in.

Seriously, thank you both for the help! I really appreciate it!
