Good afternoon. I installed an ultrasonic pest repeller under the hood by connecting to the battery positive accessory terminal and grounding to the block. This activated the alarm and immobilizer. I tried to reset using the unlock button on the key and also by turning the key on, but it remains activated, and the car won't start. I tried the reset procedure in the manual (key ON 5 sec, then LOCK 10 sec, & repeat), but no go. I also disconnected the negative battery terminal and uninstalled the pest repeller, but the alarm is still armed and the car won't start. Help!

yikes! looks like it triggered a lock-down within the alarm. i think you're gonna need to tow it to your dealer. this might be a serious issue. or it might be just a simple unlock procedure that can be done via CONSULT (nissan software)

I took ImStricken's advice and had it towed to the dealer. Turns out it had an aftermarket security system I was unaware of, and had no controller for. Dealer removed it and reprogrammed the keys (1 hour labor). Not sure why disconnecting the battery triggered the alarm this time (it never has before...). Do I dare try to reinstall the pest repeller?

No those things have questionable value anyway. Which is a nice way of saying they do not work.
