Hey there,
First time poster here. I have a 2008 Rogue that has had a bunch of problems with our audio system. The audio has intermittently gone in and out the past few years of owning the car. I am not able to get any sound from any input, radio, Aux cable, etc. and then all of sudden, magically, it will come back on. This sometimes happens for a day, sometimes for 4 months, we never know.

I troubleshooted it in the following ways:

1. replaced head unit with factory head unit
2. replaced amp with factory amp

NOTHING.

Finally took to to a car audio installer, he was getting a low voltage reading at the amp. He said there was oxidation/build-up on the fuse, he cleaned the fuse, and voila! it worked. It worked consistently for 4 months, but now we are having the same issue. I recently replaced all the fuses that I think(?) have anything to do with the audio system. I downloaded the service manual just to clarify I had the right fuses and I was correct. Am I missing something here? I'd like to avoid bringing it back to that audio installer and paying for service again when it seems to be a 'simple' fix.

Let me know if you have any suggestions! Thanks.

:welcome:

Check your speakers to see if they are blown, or grounding out.
Check your wiring. Are any wires shorting out on a ground? Or maybe two wires making contact with each other?
Check your ground with a volt meter. Do you have a clean connection and great contact with the grounding site?
