Hi,
I live in Michigan and last week it got really cold. I went to start my car Friday morning and the dash thermometer read -20! I attempted to start my car but it was unable to. I assumed this had to do with the temperature and having an older battery. I tried jump starting the vehicle with no luck. My lights and all other accessories would turn on, but the engine could just not start. It was attempting to turn over however. Yesterday I went to Wal Mart and purchased a new battery hoping that would be the fix. I installed the battery and the car will still not start. It seems like it really does want to run, but something is not letting it. After reading many posts, I am thinking it may possibly have to do with an anti-theft system. I have keyless entry and the fob will still communicate with the car by unlocking it and allowing me to turn the ignition switch.
Does anyone know what the general issue may be? It's unfortunate that the closest Nissan Dealer is 82 miles from me, but thankfully I have AAA+ that will allow a 100mile tow.
Thank you!
