Hello - new here. Did a search but I didn't find anything on this...

I just bought a Quest with a single dvd player - during the evacuation for Gustav - we discovered that the stock dvd player will not play copied dvd's.

I made the copies from the originals and they play fine everywhere else but not in the Quests' dvd player. If I remember correctly - it gives you a 'Loading Error'. Original dvd's play fine. Is this a 'normal' feature? Anyone else out there playing copied dvds in their vans? If so - what did I do wrong?

I copied a bunch of the kids' movies so that they would not destroy the originals...

Any insight? Thanks!

Typically it's a format compatibility issue. If your using dvd-r try dvd+r or the other way around and see if it works.

I tried what you told me in a round-about-way and it worked. I didn't change the type of blank dvd - but in DVD Decrypter it allows you to change the book type - I set it to DVD Rom. I was recording onto RiDATA dvd+r 4.7GB media.

I wasn't about to go buy another 100 dvd discs - so this works out great.

Thanks!
