2008 Pathfinder SE comparison with 2003 LE; wind noise and water leak issues

I bought a 2008 SE V8 this summer and like it better than the old 2003 LE, but here's a few observations and questions for other later-model owners.

First of all, the quality does not seem to be quite as good as the old model. I have a lot more wind noise on this 2008 than the 2003 had. Also, more squeaks and rattles.

The wind noise is very significant; and I have had it back to the dealer who reported "no problem found". I would classify the noise level as far above the 2003's, at the side windows.

I also came across an issue with water leakage-when going thru a car wash and/or manually washing the car with a low pressure hose, the passenger side seat belt gets wet-in the retractor! I can't see any sign of a leak. The Pathfinder does have an aftermarket sunroof, but I can't see any sign of water in the headliner or any sign of leaks around the gaskets. The Driver's side is dry.

On the positive side, the V8 has PLENTY of power, and I am able to get better gas mileage than the old V6 did, when doing mainly highway driving.I also like the increased room, and the fact that this will be able to tow my camper much better than the old unit.

only way to tell if its coming from the sun roof is to take off the head liner, and sit in it while someone throws gratuitous amounts of water on the roof.

if it doesn't leak, then the only other possibility would be the door jams/weather stripping at the top.

check with nissan recalls too. sometimes they have already figured out the problem.
