2008 or 2008 model? Help and your suggestions needed please!

Hi,

I am a total newbie to Nissan and Infiniti cars so please excuse me for asking some of the most basic, stupid questions here:

My wife and I are trying to purchase/lease an EX35, we test drove a 2008 model and we both loved it. There are only several 2008 models left with dealers in our area (Greater Boston), they are all AWD Journey model and all three dealers that we have contacted offer around $10000 off the MSRP price, which is around $46,325. I asked these dealers about the 2009 model and none of them have it on their lot right now and none of them could tell me any significant difference between the 2008 and the 2009 models.

So my first question is, (1) are there any significant differences between 2008 and 2009 models of the EX35? Exterior? Interior? The pictures of the 2009 model EX35 on the official Infiniti USA website that I have seen seem to suggest the shape of the frontal head lights is a little different. Is it just me?

(2) Should we take advantage of the discount offered on the 2008 model, or should we wait for the 2009 model? The reason why I ask is because I learned that 2008 was the first year of the EX35 model and my experience with my Mini Cooper S 2007 (first year model of the 2nd generation Mini Cooper under BMW) had a lot of little quarky problems here and there that proved to be quite problematic. I was told usually these problems go away starting with the second year model. Are there any known quality problems and defects with the 2008 EX35 that perhaps the 2009 model will fix?

I own both the 2008 and 2009 models and both are the same. I would spring for the 08 model to get a better deal. This car has been out in Japan before the US got them, therefore, it is not the first year model. Remember the Honda CR-V? It was out in Japan for 3 years bfore the US received them and they never failed. No recalls or anything. I know, because I own two of them. As you can see, I like to buy two of everything. LOL

Buy the EX, you wont be disappointed. I don't think anyone is that is on this forum. Hope this helps.
