I have a 2008 Nissan Rogue SL, CVT, with about 130,000 miles on it. Recently I have had this car in the shop multiple times. First it was to have my tires rotated, balanced and re-aligned. This was done to first try to detect the noise from which my car was making only in reverse. The thought was that the wheels were worn and cupping, thus two of the tires were replaced. From there the noise continued to get worse. Under the next inspection it was assumed that the noise was being caused by worn wheel bearings and so those were found to actually be worn and those were replaced. The noise persisted in the same visit, so the shop began trying to narrow down where the noise was still coming from. It was then determined that the noise was coming from a bearing in the rear differential and drivetrain. Because this was such a specific part to the car I had to have the job done by an actual Nissan Technician. Now the rear drivetrain and differentials have been replaced, but the noise is still there.
If the noise wasn't so bad and if I knew it wasn't actually something that could cause problems later on, i wouldn't worry about it. I am desperate at this point to get this handled.
If anyone has experienced this or might know what this problem is, I would greatly appreciate your insight.
Note:
The car was/ is also making a roaring noise like I have huge off roading truck tires when driving on the interstate. The squeaking noise is not a break sound either, as it is more of a rotational squeaking "duck sounding".
Also when the CVT transmission recall came out the car immediately had it replaced with about 80-90k miles on it.
