i went to the shop... the mechanic states the noise is coming from the bearing side of where it connects to the transmission.

I think you are supposed to replace the axle when the bearing goes bad.

The bearing is attached to the axle.

the funny this is i purchased that axle not even a year ago.. i wonder if i have warranty on it.. the shop wants to take off both axle to see what is going on... they had the car on lift while driving it to hear the noise... after doing this all of the light came on, awd, vdc, trac were on.... the car was struggling to go up a hill... what could be the cause of this ...

if you didnt get a brand new axle from the dealer, what you got was a new (remanufactured) axle. most often those are used bearing and never replaced. i had that issue. the "new" (aka reman) axle i bought had a shot bearing on it. i ended up getting a discount.
