Sorry if this was posted, but I am having issues with a used replacement engine I put in my van. Every time I start the van I get a puff of blueish smoke. After a week of driving the van I check the oil and it is 4 quarts low. Went thru a car wash and now it is barely moving. Is it possible that the fuel pump is bad and is causing these issues??

Check that your PCV plumbing is routed correctly and that your PCV Valve is good, but if it is, it sounds like you bought a clunker that has either bad rings or very bad stem seals. An '08 has an internally-regulated fuel pump, and since your crank obviously isn't filling with gasoline, the fuel system isn't your problem.

It won't cause blue smoke no matter how bad it is, and it can only cause loss of oil by overpressure that fills the crank with gasoline. Your crank was empty, not overfull and thin. I'm afraid you're barking up a completely irrational tree.

On the other hand, a bad PCV or improperly-routed PCV plumbing can definitely cause catastrophic oil usage. That's the right tree, and if you don't find anything there, then you simply bought a bad engine.
