Have an 08 Nissan Maxima with 176K miles, Recently at 2000 RPMS after the car been driven for a while i get a heavy vibration. It's only at 2000K RPMS, Anything past that it get's smooth. Sometimes the vibration so bad it rattles the whole car especially under heavy acceleration until it past 2000 rpms. I'm assuming something wrong with the exhaust. Nissan said bad engine mount. replaced the bad engine mount but still having the vibration. Can't determine if it's exhaust or not. Also get another noise to but only hear it when i'm some place that it echos or while accelerating again only at 2000 rpms. Anyone else have this problem?

2000 rpm but at what speed and in what gear?

I had a cv axle that slipped at about 60 mph before at highway speeds in 4th gear (automatic trans)
See if you have a ripped boot -you will probably see a lot of grease associated with a ripped boot

I have the CVT in my car. Been a great Transmission, I only feel it at take off. Once i'm up to speed and i have to accelerate i don't feel it anymore. I didn't think about checking the CV axle. It almost feel like exhaust vibration to

I had vibrations on my car a few months ago both driving around 2k-3k (what ever the avg is for highway driving for my car with CVT) when on the highway doing 50-80 and when I braked.
Replaced rotors (had warranty for them and brakes) and brake pads and noticed the brake vibrations stopped.
I had my shocks and struts replaced which made the drive smoother (I'm at 110k miles)
This left me with vibrations at high speed.....got them realigned and re balanced and good as new :)

Did you check anything any of the above? Sounds dumb at first but after I did that My drive felt brand new

What kind of noise are you hearing?Grinding? A midget with a hammer? Squirrel under the hood squeak?
I had a grinding noise and found after about 50 miles that my rotors was seated at a slight angle reseated them and good as new

FYI i got a 2011 Maxima

The car has been amazing after this weekend i'll be at 176K on it. I replaced the struts and front springs about 2 years ago ( going to do it again next month) brakes are getting replaced possibly this weekend as well. At highway speeds i don't have the vibration. From 0 to about 40 is when i feel it but only at 2000k rpms. Anything below or above i don't feel it. It does seem like it could be the CV axle.

I had an 07 which is basically an older version of yours and it was AWESOME with the exception that the damn headlight bulbs were too expensive (had halogens)
:woot:

Ran fine with almost no maintenance (nothing major just routine tires, brakes, oil etc..( and I was a 2nd owner......It was owned previously by a rental company. So it was the town bicycle of cars.
Had to replace the CVT but that was with warranty at 24000k

Other then that ran fine only issue was the bearings for the condenser unit. From what I was reading unlike most condenser units the bearings was built in and I was not able to replace it. I was looking at a 2k repair just to fix a dam noise that occured when the AC was turned on (sounded like a chipmunk on speed who drank too much red bull)

I sold it to dealer hoping he don't turn on the AC said high mileage but good condition :bowrofl:

Walked out with a brand new 2011 maxima :inoutgay:

Nice, I haven't done no major repairs to my car either just routine maintenance as well, I'm the second owner of this car bought it with 42k on the odm. I dread when my headlights go out. I'm going to keep my car another year or 2 and get e a 2016 Max. Test drove one and loved everything about it!
