I was wondering if I can take off the square "sticker-like" patches on the lower rear side panels. The color looks like it's fading as time goes by.

Just start peeling it off with your hands. It's on there pretty good so it'll take awhile. Then use Tarminator or some other adhesive remover to get the left over adhesive off.
