2008 Maxima SE trunk problems

all - I just purchased a fully loaded 08 SE last thursday and today I went to get my laptop out of the trunk and it will not open at all. I cannot it get it to open via the door latch off the drivers side door; using the smart key method or even via the key fob and pressing the trunk button. Its making no noise at all. Any one ever seen this before? I am thinking about disconnecting the battery cables and seeing if this will fix it.

Any other suggestions? I will of course take it to the dealership as well.

There's an emergency manual trunk release inside the trunk lid. If you fold down the rear seatbacks, you can get to it.

There is a valet switch in the glove box, I think. It probably got turned off somehow. Owner's manuals are very helpful sometimes.

Just looked at the quick reference guide and found the trunk lid cancel switch which I believe you are referring to. went out to the car and sure enough it was off. turned it back on and all is working. Not sure how this got turned off as I am the only one who drives the car. I had it washed this week so maybe this is how it happened?
