Hi Everyone, New to the forums

The title pretty much says it all, I am looking at replacing my aging BMW 540 due to a spike in maintenance costs over the past year. I found a dealer that has a 2008 Infiniti M35x with 83k on the odometer and the asking price is $15k no warranty(option to buy the extended warranty but I don't think I'm going to do that). Is there anything that I should be concerned about on the car and what do maintenance cost look like with this car for the miles? Thanks everyone!

Car: 2011 M56x but I spend a lot of time on my 2015 Kawasaki Vulcan S. Former owner of a 2007 M35x. Also take care of my wife's 2016 QX60.

Welcome to the forum.

It depends on what previous history of the car. I traded my 2007 in with 140k and other than 2 visits to the dealer (once for bad memory seat module and once for a steering rack issue - both fixed under warranty) car only required oil, filters, etc. as any other car would.

It depends on how the car was taken care of before and how you take care of it when you get it.

According to the carfax, one owner, bought local (in the warm state of Minnesota)

According to the dealer "guy was anal on maintenance"

The only issue that I have is that the dealer that I'm buying it from is a GMC dealership and doesn't have any maintenance records of the car, They know the previous owner but that doesn't help me in any way

If it was Infiniti maintained, and dealer can give you maintenance history if you have the vin.

Great Idea, just called the nearest infiniti dealership and they printed the maintenance logs, I'll be grabbing it today

Based on service records, looks like the previous owner did oil changes pretty much every 4-6k miles, drive belts and hoses and battery was replaced at 64k

Sounds like it was well maintained then and you should be okay with it.

There's several other fluid services that are recommended at 60k, but for the most part, an M35 is practically bullet proof. I'm at 207k on mine, original engine/trans, etc.
