My 2008 m35x seat heater trips out after 30 seconds or so. From that point I have no power showing on the control until I restart my car. The cooling function works without tripping out. I checked the filter under the seat and it was bad. I tried starting it without the filter and it tripped out though. Any thoughts on how to fix? The filter was my long shot easy fix hope.

I want to take a shot at replacing the ccs module under the seat. I’m guessing I have to remove the seat to get at it. Anyone remove a seat before or change the module for a walk through?

So had a member who took his driver seat out to fix a busted seat rail and posted a few pics: post6687327.html?hilit=broken%20seat#p6687327
Unfortunately, he used Photoblowit (Photobucket, which now makes you pay to have images hosted on 3rd party sites)
You might be able to PM him to see if he still has those photos.

And this thread discusses an issue a member had with his "06, should be the same for an '08: post6673775.html?hilit=seat%20heater#p6673775

For seat removal
Looking at the FSM for the "06, you basically:
1. pull rear rail covers backward to remove them
2. remove the 2 mounting bolts
3. pull front rail covers forward to remove them
4. remove the 2 mounting bolts
5. Make sure ignition is OFF, disconnect your battery and wait for at least 3 minutes before removing the harness connector
6. Remove the harness connector under the seat
7. Remove the head rest
8. Remove seat from vehicle

The seat back and sides need to come off to get to the seat cushion thermal electrical device assembly - couple of screws, clips, and pawls.
You should get the link from Ilya's signature to get to the FSM - good diagrams in there
