2008 M35x AWD Light Stays On
I took my car to the dealership because my AWD light is on. After a two-hour diagnostic ($134.50 p/h), the dealership indicates that I need to replace the transfer case in order to correct the problem. They quoted me $2,800 for OEM transfer case. Please help.

Did they provide you with a code that was being thrown by the system by any chance? That would help the crew here...

I'm told that auto part shops will sometimes read the codes for you at no charge or low charge
