hey guys,
I’m new to the forum. my name is Abe and i have a 2008 M35. i have been reading around on here about starting issues and no one has described what my M is doing. i have my car dropped almost 3.5 inches and i was adjusting the headlights b/c the auto leveling tends to act up with lowered M from what I’m told/read. of course i ran the battery all the way dead lol.(noted i bought the car used and assuming the battery has never been replaced) got in the car tried to start it and it SLOWLY turned over about 4-5 times then a bunch of clicking. so i hooked up my battery charger on engine start mode (about 10mins as instructed) and it SLOWLY turned over again then back to clicks. so i left the battery charger on for about 2 hours, tried to start it up again and turned over faster then back to clicks. so i swapped the charger to engine mode again and turned over 2-3 times then clicks again. let it sit for about 30secs tried again and about fired up. waited about a min then it fired up after almost 10secs of turning over... i figured it was flooded. so i drove it around for 15mins and parked it and threw the charger back on it all night at a trickle charge (8-9 hours). this morning i went out and figured she's gonna fire right up and once again nothing but clicks. so i unhooked the charger and tried again and it turned over pretty quick but didn’t start. so i tried to start it again and same thing it ALMOST fired. tried one more time and bam it fired right up. so i turned it off and started it right up again about 3-4 more times. what’s weird to me is IF the battery was "dead" then it wouldn't have fired up... right? i mean the more you pull from the battery, the more it drains but it was almost the opposite this morning. the more i tried the "better" it sounded and finally fired up. i know this is long but i'm hoping you guys could maybe shed some insight on this matter
