To all the suspension experts out there, please chime in..I have an 08 M35 sport and i want to lower it, aprrox an inch in front and half inch in rear. I did some homework and found the closest thing was the Tein H-tech springs..Anyone have these, pics, etc or any suggestions on other brands with similar drop. thanks

Presumable you want a small drop to maintain your ride quality as much as possible.

The "Tanabe" springs are only suppose to be 5% stiffer than stock. They have a 1.5" drop in the front and 1.0" drop in the rear. I have read nothing but good things about these springs so far. Considering you have the "sport" version it may even be less regarding comparitive stiffness.

Oh yeah, here is a good price on them...http://www.advancespeedshop.co....html

the tanabe drop is a little too much, the tein springs advertise 1.1 front and 0.5 rear...thats what i am leaning towards. as far as spring rates, does anyone know the stock spring rates for 2008 m35 sport?? that way i could compare them to the tein springs

If you want your ride lower and to have the factory ride or better, then you might want to invest in an adjustable coil over kit.At least you know the struts are matched to work with the springs.Factory struts and shocks were not designed to consistantly work out of their normal ride hidth range. Once you lower the car, the struts and shocks compress an inch or so. I'm not 100% sure, but were they designed to function the same at a different compressed levels from being lowered by shorter springs?

Coil over....seems the better way to go. The components are a matched system.

+1 on that. in my opinion, just getting the coils are for people who own hondas and nissan's. you drive an M, respect your ride and purchase the full coilover kit!!!!

I see, all who drive "M's"who have installed just springs/coils have disrespected their rides(in your opinion). Unfortunetly, some have to respect their wallets.

I happen to think a mild drop such as Luminor is speaking of, is just that-minor.

M4T5 makes a good point regarding the factory struts & shocks though. From my experiences, a 1/2 inch drop definetly won't have any ill effects on a shock. Also, just over a inch drop on the front...I think the struts can live with considering the fact I have not heard of any strut failures on these fine vehicles .

A quality set of coilovers that come close to keeping the ride quality is going to cost nearly two thousand dollars (correct me if I'm wrong). If money was not a object-JIC's all the way baby!!!

Ultimately, a Infiniti is a Nissan...the ultimate Nissan is a Infiniti.

JIC coilovers are over 2K just for parts..stock struts are more than capable of handling half inch to 1 inch drops with quality springs such as the ones im interested in. Im not looking for a crazy drop, which is where keeping stock struts would become a problem..I just joined this site, and i hope most of the members here aren't as ignorant as fiveliterbeater. Its nice to see that some members like 07sportm35 understand where im coming from without making ridiculous comments.

Like you I have searched all over Luminor.

The Tein "H" springs have the mildest drop it appears (1.2" front & .5" rear).

The can be found on e-bay for a mere $235 shipped! Just thought you might want to know.

Best of luck!
