2008 M35 Rear Bumper

Got banged while parked and the driver side bumper skin got misplaced a bit on the side (popped out). Anyone know whether that is easy to realign, or do I have to bring it in. Thanks.

did you try to simply bang it and push it back in?

Actually, I did... and it wouldn't budge. But I didn't want to use too much force for obvious reasons.

There are several points the bumper cover is hold on to the body. My guess is he impact stretched the bumper cover and now they are loose and out of shape - thus popped out on the side.

If you want to adjust it yourself, you have to access them from inside the trunk - remove the cover (not only the carpet, but the trunk cover until you see the metal), then, loose those (yes several) bolts and have someone hold the bumper in place while you tighten all the bolts - assuming the damage is minor. If it tears any bolt hole that it is striped, you will need to use washer to hold it there.

I know it is kind of poor explanation - I am not very familiar with the name of all those parts. But, hopefully, you got the idea.

Thanks, Runner... that is perfect. I didn't know if the access was from inside the trunk or from the underside of the body.
