Sorry, old topic for an old car.

But I'm a new owner and my search seems to get me nowhere. Could anyone confirm whether anything ever came out to control/navigate your ipod through the factory nav? Or even swapping out the disc changer for something aftermarket?

I searched pretty tirelessly for this when I first got the car as well Adrian. There isn't much in the way you can do with the stock unit. Trust me, I've looked everywhere. Nissan allegedly sells an adapter, but they could never confirm if it worked with the 2008 model, and I didn't wanna drop 150 bucks on something that they couldn't even tell me if it worked. Best bet may be to go aftermarket.

 Damn. Thanks.

I'm assuming you're talking about this?

Apparently it does work but it's a severely crippled solution. i.e., can't navigate your playlists with the car in motion, can only go through one track at a time, uses the 6 disc changer screen, etc.

This is why you should research before buying. If I could go back I'd get one without the factory nav. It's such a PITA.

One more question if you (or anyone else) doesn't mind. Can I just keep the factory nav and replace the disc changer at the bottom of the dash? If I can replace it with an aftermarket touchscreen, I'd be satisfied.
