Hey guys. I need some help with the Infiniti model listed above.

I bought this ride for my wife about 3 years ago. It is a sweet ride, no doubt. When we bought it from the dealer it had, "no problems." We were headed down the road maybe 20 miles after purchasing it and the check engine light came on. I went back to the dealer and gave him a peace of my mind, but all he said was the deal was done.

My father-in-law and I did some extensive research on the error code it was bringing up. I know it would be beneficial to have the error code, but I do not at the moment. If I remember correctly, we found on one of these message boards that it may have to do with a flap or something of that nature that controls how much oil goes to the motor. All I can tell you is the "things" the car will do from time to time.

1) It seems like whenever the car needs an oil change (3-3.5K miles) that it starts to try and stall when sitting at red lights. If you drive it for a while and then park it, it will also take 2-3 times to start back up. Then it is fine.

2) The rev meter does not stay consistent when sitting at a red light. It bounces between 500-750 RPM.

-When I used to know the error code, most people on this site said they had heard of it before and that they didn't fix it, was just irritating. I was curious if anyone has heard of this before?

Thanks,

T

The '08 G35 sedan VQ35HR motor should be rock solid. Unfortunately, without knowing what the code is it's difficult to really say what the issue is. I looked through the Factory Service Manual's codes but did not find anything related to a "flap". I suggest you go to a local auto parts store and have the codes pulled again and then go through the FSM and troubleshoot the problem. FSM's for the 2008 is located here: http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/G35/Sedan/2008/

Refer to the ec.pdf for codes. Seems the car dealership screwed you and simply reset the ECU to get rid of the codes before selling you the car. Good luck!
