Hey all...

I did alot of searching for a useful forum, and I think I may have found one.

I also did some research on a cold air intake for a 08' G37, and INJEN seems to be the only option available. I saw many of you talking about the Stalin intake, and was wondering if that fits the 08' G37.

All help is appreciated, thanks

Hey there and Welcome to NICO you have indeed found a useful forum!

I think for a while the Injen was the only one out there, I have been fortunate to drive one equipped with it and it is very gratifing to step on the throttle. I think Stillen is coming outwith one but it is not listed on their website.

Stillen

Hey Steve, thanks for the welcome, and the quick response. Do you think its worth it to wait for the Stillen, or will the INJEN satisfy my need. ( I traded in a corvette for the G37...haha)

Welcome to NICO

Fujita came out with the first G37 intake system and that was followed by Injen. The Injen intake is about $100-150 more expensive than the Fujita as the Fujita is a short-ram.

I don't really know what the best thing to do is. Many people make the decision based on price alone, personally I do not like the short ram without a box. I do like the Stillen products, mostly for their R&D as I have none installed.

What differences have you noticed with your switch from the Vette? I prefer the G over many other cars I was just wondering what sold youon the G.

My G was a compromise from a Vette...needed the backseat.

People love the Fujita on the 07+ G35 sedans.

Here is a link to EverythingG35.com. They have an "IOSPerformance" product that looks like the Fujita...

it all comes down to being practical. My 05' vette had 7,000 miles on it, never seen rain, didn't drive it anywhere cause I would stress out worrying about it while I was there. Depreciation KILLED my vette, so I wanted to go more practical. The G37 was the only coupe that appealed to me, on a currently VERY weak Coupe market. I test drove one, read, researched, and bought. Absolutely love the car. Is there anything that can shut the non-drive with the dvd playing error. Is there anything that can be done so the video can play while driving?

Money is not an issue, I want what is best, so I guess INJEN will do?

Thanks for the info Joe, the backseat was also an issue for me..... I listened to some youtube videos of the fujita, sounds unbelievable. Any other recommendations for aftermarket fun....haha

Both the Injen and Fujita are WAI's and I doubt the amount of HP increase is much different (if it has a gain). The longer tube of the Injen may somewhat adjust where peak HP is but that's about it.

Here's a couple articles you may find interesting:

Thanks Aud for the great article. I was kind of suspicious about the CAI not having a cold air path, but Stillen's supposedly states that their intake is a cold air intake and not a warm air intake. Hmmm, gotta love marketing schemes.....

The only way I see to get a real CAI for a G37 would be to run long piping like the Injen into the front end near the fake intake grilles on the bumper (Sport grille) and changing the sport grilles to be real. Otherwise they will all be WAI's.

I personally went with the JWT pop charger system. I wanted a short ram intake because I like the additional horsepower in the lower RPM's vs. the long tube cold air that seems to create more horsepower in the higher RPMs. I don't drive near red-line very often so the short ram was an easy choice. What also appealed to me was the fact that JWT created a heat shield around the intake system, it is expensive but I only plan on making two or three performance mods.

Hey guys, first time posting. Just picked up a G37S 6 speed on Sunday-badass car! I was looking at Stillen's website yesterday and they just came out with a true cold air intake system where the filters are actually in front of the radiator. I think they added 18 hp at the wheels.

Not really a K&N fan even though I have them in my sedan.

yeah, and I do stand corrected above......Stillen's intake is a true CAI as it's mounted in the grille. Granted, it didn't exist when this thread was made.
