I purchased a 2008 G35xS ten days ago:

Liquid Platinum/StonePremiumSportNavTech25 miles on the odometer

for $32125 + taxes/tags good deal?

I am a noob, just found this site and excited about the ride!I was wondering what basic mods I can do to the car that are not too expensive (I just broke the bank for this). The salesman suggested an air intake & I was wondering how much I should tint the windows.

Help would be appreciated! Thanks

Welcome to NICO

+1 on tinting the windows. I went 5% on the back windows and rear windshield, 20% on the front, and 5% on the visor. Find out about your tint laws. In UT 43% is the lowest you can go for the front windows.

+1 for intake, and also exhaust

Look at most people's signitures and it tells you what they have installed... you will see a lot of common stuff... i didn't want to brake the bank either with modifications... at least not yet (only had my g35x for like 6 months)

my list of modifications i will definatly do/have done:

Intake (stillen most likely, but most people have the JWT pop charger)grounding wireslight wieght (non underdrive) pulleyslight wieght fly wheel (might be manual transmission only)Kinetix Racing V+ PlenumKinetix Racing High flow catsTiming AdvanceStillen True dual exhaust or Tanabe MEDALION TOURINGEngine torque damperStrut Tower BraceBetter tires once my stock tires need replacingLighter rimsJDM clear corners/side markers upgrade audio

most of what i named should be avaliable for the 08 G35x... it has a different engine than my 2005 g35x...

Dont let the mod bug catch you... you will be broke... but you will enjoy that brokness... so far i have been disiplined... im proud my self becuase all this stuff is a swipe of a card away

Welcome aboard! You must be a hell of a negotiator as the sticker on your car had to be close to $42,000. Knocking $10k off the price is awesome, do you hire yourself out for when my lease comes due? There wasn't a trade-in involved was there? This is a great group and you'll enjoy all the feedback and help.

Thanks for all the replies! I guess I will have to be disciplined and slowly mod the car given the considerable amount of money it would take, but it definitely seems to be worth it considering how sweet everyone's cars look & drive. I guess a torque damper, intake, ground wire and tints are gonna be as far as I go for the near future.

I was able to bargain 10k off the price without trading in probably because the dealer really wanted to move the car, but it did take around a week to find one at that price and playing 3 dealers off eachother.

I hope to get some pics up soon

Thanks again!

Welcome to NICO!

You have some solid advice already. Plus there are 1235779871949 threads on "beginner" mods if you do a search.

Intake/exhaust are an excellent start!
