I've been looking everywhere for information on this. I'm looking to buy a brand new 2008 G35X completely loaded including the Sport Package. Does this include a sportier/firmer suspension than the regular G35X? I thought the 2WD sport version does, so wouldn't the X also? If not what are you paying for when the cost is almost as much as the 2WD package, which also includes larger brakes and a VLSD, not included on the X??? Does the G35X sport handle better than the base, and if so is it just because of the larger wheels and lower profile tires? Does the handling hang with the 2WD sport??

No it doesn't come with the stiffer suspension, 350$ buys you stiffer springs for the AWD car. The 08 G35XS comes with 18" wheels summer all season tires, paddle shifters, metal pedals, a sportier front and side skirts. The real reason of a G35S vs a G35XS is no snow vs snow. RWD FTL in snow.

Thanks. So how does the handling of the G35XS compare to the G35S?

S from what I understand handles a bit tighter through corners, more like a coupe but with more of the comfort of a sedan (not as harsh vs G35c (not G37c)of a ride because of new ATTESA system or w/e)

See this article. They compared the 2 on the track doing laps. It tells which handles better on dry/wet surface. You can imagine which handles beter in snow.

Yeah it is surprise for most of the people.

It is true tho. You can floor the X in any corner it goes out way easier. With the RWD you have to be careful with the throttle. That's why some people think it is slower. When you drive the X. Nissan nailed it with Attesa for sure.

Thanks. I wouldn't have thought that either. Do you or does anyone else know if there is a comparison of the G35 versus the G37?? I'm assuming there isn't a comparison of the G35X versus the G37, but that would be good to know, if it were available. Ultimately I'm trying to find out where the G35X sport stands against the rest of the infiniti sport car lineup.

I've seen numbers for the G37 from the track. They are pair with the G35 sedan.

Are you sure about that? I would just assume the coupe would be quicker, with a lower, wider stance, more power, also I would assume the suspension is stiffer? How could that be possible?

Overweight.

hehehhe

It is heavier then the sedan. They are saying due to the design of the door frame. But I don't know if it is true or not. Possible.

Yeah I heard that too. I drove a G37 for a day and the doors are definitely heavy...not sure they are the only reason for the car being so heavy, but you can definitely feel the weight. Why make a coupe heavier than the sedan...sound like some engineer messed up on that one!! Fire that SOB!

What's the 0-60 on the G35X and how does that compare to the G35 and the G37? Seems to be conflicting numbers out there...

I just wish the X came with a six speed manual, but I have to say the new automatic seems to have a lot more technology behind it than the old version. The paddle shifter are a nice touch also.

0-60's are similar on all 3. It is hard to tell if not the same day same track there will be a difference. Only thing is on the X. You are capable almost the same if the track/road condition is not the best. Like rain, dirty road.

I don't know about the paddle shifter. I tried it and I think I like better the tiptronic to use. Most likely due to my driving habit. I use my left hand to steer and my right hand usually rests on the arm rest and holding the shift nob. I've been driving like that for 19 years. I used to drive cars manual trany. But that's just personel taste I guess.

I do love the auto trany. It is more comfier in the traffic.

So I'm seeing anything from 5.0 sec to 5.5 sec 0-60...do you think that's accurate, obviously depending on driver, conditions, etc? 5.0 sec seems a little quicker than i would expect??

If you happen to come across any comparison tests of the G35 sedan versus the G37 let me know? There has to be something out there!
