2008 G35X - BCM and remote starter issue

My 08 Infinity G35X is throwing code C1734. Infinity dealership says nothing mechanically wrong with the car. They found that the after market remote starter was wired to the BCM. They say the remote starter is shorting out the computer (BCM) which is causing the hard code and will probably lead to the car throwing more codes, possibly inactivating my electric locks, ignition, etc. I called the remote starter establishment and faxed them what the dealership gave me. They refute the dealership's findings. Incidentally - the dealership has voided my warranty until the BCM is replaced. Is it common to hard wire a remote starter into a vehicle's computer system? Is the establishment that installed my remote starter liable for the cost to replace the BCM ($600) ? The remote starter itself cost about $600. Could the Dealership be wrong? Please advise your thoughts on this mess. Thank you
