2008 g35s---how to remove gear shift knob

wassup yawl.....does anyone know how to remove the gear shift knob so i can remove the entire center console?

im about to do that bypass video "surgery" but i wanted to remove the console so i can make a hole for the wires neatly....

suggestions, answers, ideas welcome..

Check out the G-series FAQ (link in my sig) for a few links that go in detail on the bypass. I'm not sure if there's info on how to remove the shifter...but we do have FSMs that might help.

Let us know if you cant find it!

thank u terrycs..but i actually meant the knob on the gear shift..i have to remove it so that whole assembly where the e-brake is can be lifted up..if u run across anything else, let me know..

hey thanks joe, but i still couldnt find anything on removal of that 6mt gear shift knob

The knob is basically screwed onto the shifter handle and it is a PITA to get off because there is thread-lok in it. The FSM says to lift up the bezel and use two adjustable pliers .. one on the shaft under the bezel and the other on the knob using a piece of cloth to prevent destoying the finish on the knob.

If you want pictures, look in the FSM, section TM, page 18.
