2008 G35 sedan - what are "Driver’s Audio Stage" and "Revised Tech and Nav" paks

From the 2008 G35 sedan press release - the changes are:

Enhancements to the 2008 G Sedan include:- All-new Sport Package available for G35x AWD model (late availability)- New 18-inch Tire and Wheel Package for G35x AWD (late availability)- Revised Technology and Navigation Packages- Infiniti iPod Interface- Driver’s Audio Stage- Standard XM® Satellite Radio (requires XM® subscription, sold separately)

Anyone know (yet) what the driver's audio stage is? What did they revise in the nav and tech packs?

I liked the stereo system just fine in the 07 sedans I test drove (with tech/nav/premium) and I wonder if I will like this better or worse than the 07?

Same thing for the revisions to tech and nav - I liked what I saw in the 07 cars and would hate to think they took a step back for 08.

I can't find a 6mt sedan with the equipment I want in the colors I want anywhere close to home - so the dealer was going to order me an 07, but can't (too late) so the is going to order me on 08.

So I need to know if the wait will be worth it - have they improved on what I was prepare to buy now?

Hi Dennis:

Not sure about the other revisions, but I believe that the Audio Stage is a new feature that will make the left speaker sound like it's coming from further to the left than where the driver is sitting, thereby creating a true stereo effect for the driver. This can be turned off when you have passengers with you.

Thanks for the replies. I found the press release posted about a zillion places, but could find no explanation of the changes.

With the ipod interface, this has to be about the most source friendly OEM stereo I have ever seen . There is the in dash MP3 changer, the music box hard drive, the card reader, the trunk changer, the aux video/audio inputs in the console, and now the ipod interface. If you don't have anything to listen to in your G, you have a problem

I'll keep my G for 3 years. I bought it last year. I'll have to wait a year after they'll come out with the sport tuned G35X. At least we'll see how good they are or may have some other goodies in 09. I heard their wil be rainsensored wiper blades also.

The only other things I have heard are:

They are dropping Sirius as an option (which should be obvious when the press release says all Gs will be equipped with XM).

They are also dropping the color "Serengeti Sand" and replaced it with "Desert Platinum".
