I have a 2008 G35 Sedan and want to put a trailer hitch to pull a jetboat, total weight 1,600 lbs.

Welcome to NICO!

I'm not sure if you can (more specifically, the manufacture doesn't recommend). However, I'm sure a local shop could install whatever you wanted.

Thank you for the reply. I know the manufacturer doesn't recommend a trailer hitch, but was curious to why? Is it a safety concern, transmission, or engine power? I have 65,000 miles so there is no warranty. I guess I will call a local Nissan Dealer in Orlando.

I would try a local shop that installs hitches...

The cars are not designed for weight on the rear section that a trailer will have. I'm sure a small trailer would be fine (under 1k lbs).

Towing capacity for a G is appx 1000lbs. Just be careful what you use.

"Your vehicle was designed to be used to carry passengers and cargo. INFINITI does not recommend trailer towing, because it places additional loads on your vehicle's engine, drivetrain, steering, braking, and other systems." - 2008 Owner's manual
