Hi all -

I wish I came with something more positive, but after 186,000 miles of zero issues with my 2008 G35x Sport, the engine decided it was time to have a replacement. Long story short, one issue led to another and low oil caused some extensive damage that is not worth repairing as it would be much cheaper to drop a used engine into my car.

My plan is to find another VQ35HR from another AWD Infiniti and call it a day.

However, for the sake of argument, what would need to be done in order to drop a VQ37HR into my car? Clearly the space is there , hence the G37 sedan in 2009. The 37 has the 7 speed automatic, I have the 5 speed automatic. A new transmission and ECU I’m sure would have to be added into the mix too, BUT if I’m wrong, please let me know. I’m anxious to hear if this would be something worth doing or if the cost isn’t worth it.
