the passenger air bag in my g35 is working the opposite of what its supposed to do .!!

when no one is sitting in the passenger seat the airbag is supposed to automatically disable itself and the light above the ash try is supposed to to be illuminated
indication the airbag is off.

but however my car is not properly working wen the passenger seat is empty the airbag is enabled and the indicator light is off. but when a passenger gets
into my car the pass airbag light illuminates and says pass air bag off.

this is working backwards and ideas on how to fix?

f*** dealer wants 125$ to diegnose plus any labor i think it can be reset by me

note: i did take the steering wheel off about 12 months ago but problem did not start until about 8 month ago !!

Welcome to NICO!

I assume when you removed the steering wheel you followed the FSM instructions.

If not you can find it here.

You will need a CONSULT lll to troubleshoot.
The service manager at the dealer where I bought my G37 told me that the software alone for the Panasonic Tough book laptop computer that the technicians use costs $60k dollars.
A week of factory training for a technician can cost close to ten thousand dollars for the class including salary, travel, hotel, rental car and meals.
I guess if you think $125.00 is too much for a factory trained technician working at a Infiniti dealer to spend time to trouble shoot you can always call a plumber or an electrician. Perhaps they can do it cheaper?

Also there is always Jiffy Lube. :chuckle:

I don't know anyone who works for nothing.

BTW when I had an air bag warning light lit on my 06 G35 it required the replacement of the wiring harness.
Originally the dealer wanted $2200 but I was able to negotiate that down to one third since I had purchased an extended warranty even though it had expired.

Good luck
