So I plan on repainting my front 08 sport bumper due to the extreme rock chips from daily driving, my front bumper has lost its shine and looks like it was sandblasted :tisk: . Body shop is charging me $500 for the job that includes removal of the bumper, strip old paint, prep and repaint. I have the OEM front plate holder on now and would like to look into other options since I do not want to drill holes into the fresh paint. I did search and came across the motorized hide away plate but it seems to complicated and I rather not go that route. I also hear it is not compatible with our cars since there is not enough space to clear.

I did find the Stillen front plate bracket for $97 and I know one member here posted pics with it on a 07 front bumper. Does anyone have pics on how it looks on the 08 sports bumper? Any other recommendations on aftermarket license brackets that keeps the plate centered? It seems the stillen is off center and I am kind of OCD when it comes to this stuff. Thanks!

You'll need someone with some welding skills to make one for you. Shouldn't be hard if you know how. Just copy the stillen design and make it centered/longer so that it lines up. There aren't any "kits" out there to purchase yet.

Not sure if i want to go through all that. Might just deal with the Stillen bracket. With the 07 bumper its seems to have 2 lines going down the center of the front bumper making it seem more off center.

I would like to see if it looks better on the 08 sport bumper since its has the wide open mouth, might still look off, but not as bad>?

Thanks anotheraznguy. So i assume you would mount this under the bottom bumper, or cut an insert in the grill more towards the top of the grill so it looks kinda OEM when out? I hate NY State laws!

so it really depends on where you want it.. it will fit in quite a few placed.. i suggest staying away from the bottom of the bumper.. one wrong hit and your license plate is gone..

this is my buddy's and you can see where it sits on his car.

but normally you don't even notice it as shown in this pic.

Anotheraznguy, thanks. Looks intersting but I dont think i want to cut out a portion of the gril to install this i also agree on not mounting under the bottom or esle its bye bye....decisions.....decisons.
