The best way to explain the smell is a mix of leather, plastic, & beef jerkey
It's worse when the car is sitting with windows up. I always keep the windows down after I drive it into the garage.
I don't think you're alone. I have owned a 2008 since September and it still has that "new car smell". It smells more 'leathery' than 'plastic-y'. No hint of beef jerky though

. I've gotten used to it, but it still bothers my wife sometimes.
We usually park the car with a window or the moon roof cracked open. It helps a bit, but the smell still hasn't gone away entirely. Whenever I'm out with the car, I use the keyfob remote to roll the front windows down when approaching the car, in order to help air it out. I have never tried an odor bomb, but I may try to keep some baking soda in the car if the smell bothers my wife even more than it does now.
