Generic is right. I used mine today in fact. had the air blowing and recirculation without the AC. By default the AC will come on but all you'll need to do is stick your finger out and push in the AC button till the light goes off. Set it and forget it!generic808 wrote:Uhh...you turn the AC button OFF (push it in) so that the AC unit only blows air!!
yeah, I know what tennyson is talking about, I have the same problem, I mentioned it earlier before in another thread - I don't think there is any way to have the air recirculation going without having the A/C on as well. Try it, hit the air recirculation button, and A/C will automatically go on; then, if you try to turn off the A/C, air recirculation goes off as well.tennyson24 wrote:This is how it looks in my car

Again. If i have my car at 70 degrees and push the AC button OFF, The Air Recirculation button also turns OFF. Now there is no way for me to turn the Air Recirculation button ON without the AC button on. The same thing happens if I have it at 80 Degrees.
Thank Youhangtime23 wrote:

It's not just in the altima coupe, either, my coworker has an 06 Sedan, and it exhibits the same behaviour.
are you sure the recirculation mode stays on after you turn AC off? if so...take a picture of it, and show me...because on my coupe, if I turn off the A/C, then the recirculation indicator goes off too...the fan is still going, but it's definitely not in recirculation mode.tsigoloeg wrote:I noticed the part where I can't turn recirculation on w/o AC coming on. But, if I just turn off AC it does stay in recirculation mode. Are we saying that some cars won't allow that to happen? Who has the "bug" if so?
Will do later this evening or tomorrow.tennyson24 wrote:yes, please take a picture of it for me also.
Actually...I have found that it is possible to have recirc on, with A/C off...but the only way to do this is to have the fan system completely off (ie. you push the "off" button in the middle so there is absolutely no air blowing out); which basically means that it's not really recirculating any air, or doing much of anything at all. Maybe this is what tsigoloeg was talking about when he said he was able to get Recirc on and A/C off?LinkNuc wrote:This is a TRUE STATEMENT, you cannot have recirc on without A/C. CONFIRMED!!! 10/12/08 on drive to Giant Eagle for munchies.
Like X-mas lights one goes out they all go out, er well both go out, you can have the follow combinations:
A/C and Recirc ONA/C and REcirc OFFA/C ON Recirc OFF
Recirc on, A/C off is not possible
Pshaw, maybe for some of you but certainly not for all.LinkNuc wrote:This is a TRUE STATEMENT, you cannot have recirc on without A/C. CONFIRMED!!! 10/12/08 on drive to Giant Eagle for munchies.

wow interesting...maybe the behaviour is different between those with the premium package, and those without. I've got the premium package, so my dials show the actual temperature...and I can't get it to work the way yours is showing, tsigoloeg...hey tennyson, do you have the premium as well?tsigoloeg wrote:

AC comes on when recirculation is started...
Simply press AC button and AC goes off, recirculation continues.
You'll notice that the fan is on. Air is blowing in this picture. So...either y'all have a "bug" or I do. If that were the case, I'll take my bug thank you much.
